Welcome to the Kingman Route 66 Rotary Classic Car Coins Website
Kingman, Arizona is known as the heart of Route 66. Because of the special relationship between Route 66 and the American automobile, the Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club began minting coins in 2007 as a fundraiser to commemorate a theme unique to this historic road. Sales of the coins support our many projects that benefit Rotary's local and international community projects. The first three years' coin sets were devoted to a classic American car built in the year 1966. (See "The Cars" menu choice above)
The reverse side of the coin features the Route 66 Road Sign, and a portion of the Route 66 road, on a background of the Arizona State flag with the words "Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club - Arizona", around the perimeter. The Rotary "wheel" emblem appears below and to the right of the star that is part of the Arizona State flag.
Each coin has been beautifully minted by the Highland Mint, exclusively for the Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club of Kingman, Arizona. For example, the First Issue Coin, minted for the year 2007, features the 1966 Shelby GT350 Mustang. Production was limited to 4,900 bronze coins. Also available is a limited edition set of 3 coins each, including the same coin in bronze, a silver plated coin, and 24K gold-plated. Only 200 of these sets were minted. Each is displayed in an attractive display box with a certificate of authenticity. To the right is an image of our 1966 Pontiac GTO 3-coin set.
** The Single Silver **
Our silver-clad "Single Silver" arrives in a protective plastic case and handsome black velvet box. Priced between our popular single bronze coin and limited edition 3-coin set, the Single Silver makes a great gift.
100% of the proceeds are used to fund our projects. The only "administrative costs" are those to mint the coins and pay for shipping and handling.
So, please browse our site if for no other reason than to relive some of the memories of the past when America was a little more innocent and Saturday night's entertainment was cruisin' Main Street listening to Wolfman Jack and the rumble of "glass-pack" mufflers.
